The part nobody mentions

A bathroom remodel is not really about tile.

It is about six strangers in your house, dust where your towels live, and brushing your teeth in the kitchen sink for a month.

Which is why the thing that matters most is not the finish you pick. It is whether the crew shows up when they said, whether the number holds, and whether anyone tells you what is happening on Thursday.

We answer our own phone, and the price on the contract is the price on the invoice.

How it runs

Six steps. No mystery.

01

We come and look

At the plumbing, the subfloor, the walls. This is where surprises get found — before they are your problem.

02

You get a real number

Itemized, in writing, within 48 hours. Not a range designed to move.

03

Permits filed

All three of them, with your town. Usually 7 to 14 days.

04

Demo and rough-in

Containment up on older homes. New supply and waste, blocking set.

05

Waterproof, then tile

Kerdi on every wall and pan. Dry-fit before anything is set.

06

Inspected and closed

Inspector signs off, we close the permit, you get the card and a walk with the crew lead.

Why Massachusetts is different

Oldest houses in the country. The rules follow.

The Lead Law

Most homes here predate 1978, so containment and HEPA cleanup are standard on our jobs, not an upcharge.

Read the guide

Three permits

Building, plumbing and electrical are separate here, each with its own inspector. We file all three.

How permits work

The Guaranty Fund

State protection that only covers registered contractors. Hire unregistered and you forfeit it entirely.

In their words

4.9★ across 355 reviews.

Our 1926 two-family had a bathroom nobody had touched in forty years. They ran lead containment the whole time, and the final invoice matched the contract exactly.

We converted the tub for my mother-in-law. Everything passed inspection first time, and the grab bars went exactly where we asked.

Three quotes and theirs was the only itemized one. No allowances that balloon later. That is why they got the job.

Before you call anyone

The questions we actually get.

A hall bath gut and rebuild runs 3 to 4 weeks. A master bath with relocated plumbing runs 4 to 6. A tub-to-shower conversion on its own is 2 to 3 weeks. If it is the only bathroom in the house we tell you the exact number of days before you sign, and we sequence the job to keep that number as small as possible.

Usually yes, and in Massachusetts it is three of them — building, plumbing and electrical are issued separately with their own inspections. We file all of them, meet the inspectors, and hand you the closed permit card at the end. An open permit is a problem you inherit at closing.

You should expect us to look properly, which is why we never quote over the phone. Most Massachusetts homes predate 1978, which means lead-safe containment, and many hide cast-iron waste or knob-and-tube in the bath circuit. We find that on the walk-through and price it in, rather than calling you from behind a wall.

No. You get a fixed itemized quote after we have seen the room. It moves only if you change the scope, and any change is priced and signed before the work happens. That is the entire reason we insist on walking the bathroom first.

Yes. MA Home Improvement Contractor Reg. #187432 and MA Construction Supervisor License CS-105118, plus $2,000,000 General Liability and full workers' compensation. Registration also puts your project under the Massachusetts Guaranty Fund, which you lose entirely with an unregistered contractor.
